Types of Turnstiles
Waist-High
Also known as half-height turnstiles, the waist-high turnstile is perfect for attractions or even large arenas. If the model is a ticket reader, the slot that accepts the ticket has a sensor that determines how fast the user of the ticket gains entrance thru the turnstile, which is all set pre-hand. These turnstile models are also available in coin models, where they can accept payment from the user.

Optical
Optical turnstiles are very similar to the waist-high models except for one key factor: they don't have a physical barrier. They generally use an infrared beam to determine if someone is allowed access. If they don't have access to the location, an alarm is triggered.

Full-Height Turnstiles
The full-height turnstile models are a larger version of the standard turnstile. The full-height model turnstile is good when you want to eliminate any chance of someone jumping over the turnstile to gain unwarranted access. This full-height model is also a good choice if you want to replace a door at your business with an easier access system while keeping that heightened security.
